Das Photophile in mir: February 2014

It all began in the beautiful city of Porto at 12 o'clock at night. One country- two friends - many amazing people. Porto, dear guys, oh I tell you – is like an undiscovered treasure. It´s just unexpectedly beautiful and directly next to the ocean with a good night life and many nice places to travel to … actually the same for Lissabon… aaand the rest of Portugal but I liked Porto the most ;P

From Porto where personally I already thought that the journey couldn´t get any better we set off down to Aveiro, Coimbra, Lissabon and finally the Algarve where we spent most of the time.
In the south we worked and enjoyed our days as Woofers at a German family. The climax of the week there was Friday because that meant "Pizza-night" ! Every Friday an "all you can eat pizza buffet" had been prepared for guests. However after working for some hours making and baking the pizzas you were welcome to eat as much as fits into your too-small-stomach ….so you can imagine how full we were every Friday…regardless of anything. -> http://pizza-night-algarve.weebly.com/

Besides my visit of the coast with its breathtaking huge waves and cliffs stoked me. Not to forget the daily walk with "Trudi" - the sheep and cosy gatherings by the fire in the evenings.

By the way : No matter how often my hair and some of my clothes had been washed they still smell like smoke. You could nearly see a connection between my soul and my clothes : for many days my soul stayed in Portugal, while my body had arrived at home for almost a week – same for my pullovers keeping the smell as a memory :) .
And this is one of the feelings i´d never want to miss : the desire and craving for returning to the place you´ve travelled to and for the people you met there.

Again it def. should be said that we owe our great time there mostly to our (couchsurfing) hosts.

Somehow …I fell in love with Portugal.
